Are you able to remove the drawers? Another thought is that there are bed risers which may or may not work but may be worth checking out.

Return or exchange the bed for one that has a frame that will lift up for storage

wow - never saw that . too late for a return - may have to pay for my mistake. to think i had also paid for assembly.
