Have you brought in any manure? Herbicide damage can be caused by products applied to fields where horses or cattle grazed. the chemicals persist in their dung.

If it's not due to herbicide residues then it's possible that the aphids and mites which you got rid of might well have been the cause of curling (assuming the pests were on these same curled leaves).

where are you.. big city name ... can you completely rule out cold damage???

do you see any indication of damage on the back of the leaves .. or is it just the curl thats bothering you???

how did you get rid of the other vermin ... did you apply anything if hot sun???

im also wondering how you had such a large infestation of both aphids and mites.. so early in the season????

I am in Ewing New Jersey a suburb of Trenton. We’ve had our share of cold temps but nothing freezing since I put them in beginning of May. We had temps in the 90s last week and that’s when I noticed the aphids and mites. I sprayed them off with a hose. Also to answer the questions about the herbicides, I tilled in about 3 yards of compost into the native clay soil in April.
