Jeri, I too hope that some of them get hooked as well. I also agree that looking for something other than the chemical solution s the way to go. unf unfortunately it seems that the people who are quickest to respond to questions just want to push chemicals

I quit my local gardening group on Next Door for similar reasons. Lots of bad advice and lockstep recommendations.

That said, I'm used to folks not even seeing my garden when they walk by, so it is nice to have more people taking an interest.

I got in trouble in one forum, when a woman asked if a fungicide she had would take care of her aphids . . . <SIGH>

A person in my local group wrote in February, just when the teas were beginning to bloom like crazy, that NOW was the time for ALL roses to be pruned heavily. I was like, "please, no ..."

I truly could weep when I hear that Tea rosebushes need to be pruned heavily.

My motto is " more canopy= more rose blossoms."

I'm so grateful for this community! I've been gardening for a long time but I'm new to roses. I've certainly been one of the newbies here with questions specific to roses and this forum has been a wonderful place precisely because there are so many very experienced and kind rosarians to share true helpful answers...and I'm thinking specifically of some of the people in this conversation. 😊I also really appreciate being able to read through old posts. I'm glad I've learned who to listen to!
