master refresh - what goes with travertine?

I have travertine floors, shower and back splashes in my master from 10 years ago. Walls were recently repainted SW sojih white which made a really positive change. However, it’s time for the brown/tan granite look countertops to go…and the shower tile as well. I’d like to keep the floor if I can. It’s a little difficult bc it has orange in about 10% of the tiles and some that have a faint greenish undertone. First 2 pics are the current bath. Last pic is white countertop (Hahnstone monterey), possible blue-gray paint for the cabinets and white tile for the shower, all of which are sitting on my travertine floors. I’m not 100% convinced the Hahnstone works. It is a warm leaning white with warm toned veins, but I have seen VERY few pics of travertine floors that don’t use a beige toned countertop of some kind and it looks a little stark at certain times of day. Thoughts?

We had travertine in the kitchen, breakfast area, laundy and all the bathrooms two houses ago. Honed travertine counters in bathrooms. Golden Leaf granite in the ktichen and laundry. The island was Farrow and Ball French Gray (a blue/green, not gray) that went well with the floors. Walls in bathroom were a SW match for French Gray.

fwiw, the new owners painted the kitchen and master bath cabinets white. IMO, the white looks awful in the photos I've seen.

The penny tiles - are those to replace the accent tile border in the shower? Or are you planning on redoing the entire shower?

Whatever you do, buy pretty rugs for in front of each sink, or one large one for that area to cover some of the floor. Will bring in more colors and soften the tile.

Thx. Great info. Penny tiles are for the shower floor to try to join the white tile, marble countertops and travertine (which they do…I’m just not sure about the countertop white background). I did give some thought to Taj Mahal quartzite, but I’m just not that into beige.

Just looked at the French gray-beautiful! That’s the kind of color I’m thinking about painting the cabinets.

Ps. I’m thinking these are directions I might be able to head (gray or blue cabinets with the white countertops)

For other inspiration, look at English kitchen cabinetmakers' websites and social media accounts. Three examples:

I would stay away from gray but a navy (or some other kind of blue) and a warm white would look nice.

I just found this lovely color combo...swoon...this is now my inspiration pic! For whatever reason, those "green" leaning blues work well with the travertine. I think they pull the orange less than the grayer blues.

Whites would not work. The soft blue in your inspiration pic would work beautifully.

I found a bunch of pics where I feel travertine that is similar in color to mine “works” with white - clearly a warm white in most cases. Other than the warmth of the white, though, what else makes these rooms work? Thoughts? Maybe it really is all about picking the right white (or maybe you disagree these “work”)? All thoughts appreciated. I can only post 4 pics at a time-a few more will follow.
