We just finished a new build where the kitchen has a hidden pantry/larder. It's got no windows and no ventilation 🤷🏼‍♂️

We didn't think about that. There aren't too many smells yet.. but we still moving in. There are some VOC type smells from the cabinet paint etc so we are thinking we should find a ventilation solution now. It's 5x8 in size and has a main door which is slightly undercut. One wall goes into a closet and one wall into a mudroom which is open.

I was thinking if it would help if I put a high vent in the wall which opens into the mudroom. Would some sort of airflow occur from the undercut in the door and the high vent, hope that makes sense.

If I was to go with some small fan for active ventilation it's a bit challenging getting power to something.. it's a brand new house so I don't really want to make holes in the drywall. I was even thinking about some sort of battery powered fan, but loathed to delay with re-charging/replacing batteries all the time..

anyone have ideas?
