last modified: 4 years ago

Hi,

We need a new roof and gutters for our home. i would love copper gutters but it seems that no one does them in my area and they are pricey.

Any suggestions for roif and gutter colors to compliment the current exterior?

thanks

What a beautiful house and setting. (Dog looks super sweet!)

White for the gutters and leaders. You can get them in a larger size to handle heavy rainfall.

I would do a charcoal or a weathered wood roof.

    Owens Corning Estate Gray.

I prefer Pewterwood to Moire Black. Both by Cetainteed.

Weathered Wood by Certainteed. I think this is a great color.

Many, many homes have routinely been built with 5" gutters... I replaced mine with 6" Gutters and appropriate (4"???) downspouts. Not much more expensive, carry like 40% more water and do not clog as easy!

EDIT: "Although 5″ is considered the standard size for residential seamless gutters, many homeowners are upgrading to 6″ over sized gutters. Though a 6″ gutter is only an inch bigger it does handle 40% more water. The over sized downspout installed with these gutters can also handle more debris passing through them."

I would do a charcoal roof too. Darker than what you have. It will look great on your house, and it wont show the staining like the one you have on there now, which is a bit too light. White gutters and downspouts like you have. They fit your house colors perfectly.

I think a metal roof would look great on your house.

Lovely home! Medium to charcoal gray would be really nice for the roof. Something similar to this roof color would be great. Very pretty and neutral.

Here I used the Certainteed Website to mock up charcoal black and pebble gray which appear to be the only gray colors that dont have variation.

    i added copper downspouts

We just built a home using "eggshell" colored gutters, I think that would be nice. A good gutter company can offer you a wide variety of colors. Go big on the gutters and downspouts. Also, see if you can get the gutter company to add a "flange" that will tuck above the roof edge to prevent the water from backing up under the shingle or running down behind the facia. SOP for our construction. And...clean your gutter 2x a year, we do fall and early spring.
