Is the whole house brick or just the front? I ask because if it is just the front, you could paint the brick, but I wouldn't suggest this for the whole house because it is really nice brick.

Yes, the brick is mostly on the front facade. You can see some brick detail in the second picture around the window. This accent of brick in the stucco is also on the back of the home around windows and doors.

This is tough. Check if you can paint the windows. Sometimes the manufacture's warranty is void if they are painted. I would keep the black and tan trim and paint the siding either a very dark gray or white.

I would start by getting more modern light fixtures (move the one over the door above the mailbox)

and relocating the bench (maybe in front of the right window>) Or if you are going to use the area for sitting, really use it. Turn the bench around to face the house and put 2 more chairs out there. Use your low planter behind the bench to create the feeling of a mini-garden and add a lot more container plants.

Even if you don’t do that (and just move the bench to the back yard), bring your plants on the hardscape down closer to the walk and get a couple of talll modern planters for under the window area

Otherwise, I might not paint at all except to pick out the darket tone of the brick and paint the garage door that color. And maybe the front window trim white, to go with your storm door.

To achieve something more modern, you should paint the trim and siding a dark color like attached (maybe a color that matches your door color now?)

Just registering a protest that painting everything charcoal is ”modern.” If I were to paint that house a dark color, it would be a very dark navy. But I foresee all kinds of problems with painting at all with the many different trims,. I tend to think the existing color is about as good as it gets with the red roof and the brick. I would wait until the roof is replaced to paint.

I think I would go with wood or wood type finish for siding and garage door.

I came across a bungalow with similar brick that paint ideas were being proposed for. I am wondering if the color palette may just work for my home?

I really like the deep olive color that Celery. Visualization, Rendering images posted above. The green does well with the tan and it is a perfect compliment to the red brick and roof. I think it a winner!

What a darling house! I'd play around with the color blocking and not assume the siding and garage door have to match. Maybe paint the garage door to match the brick, as in @Celery. Visualization, Rendering images mock-up, and then decide what to do with the siding.

A new front door and light, and maybe new more vertical railings. I agree the bench should be removed and some vertical planters added in that space.

Honestly I wouldn’t bother until you can change the roof.

Personally, I would embrace the red.

Bigger carriage light, but not this big, of course.

These are of course very rough - not to mention, sloppy... 😂 If you want grey and black on the house, it would be better if you go dark on window frames.

I like this color with the brick and I think it will be the answer until you get a new roof.
