Share: How To Clean Electrolux Smart Boost Washers

last modified: 4 years ago

Over time I have read about issues with smell etc from washers in subject. I had my 617 almost 5 yrs. This is how I kept drum and recirculation pump/chamber/spray nozzle clean.

Do run clean cycle with 1 cup of bleach monthly directly in powder side/no insert as filling. The machine does fill with some hot water, then continues to dumb it down the rest of main fill. It becomes luke warm at best and does not heat in the process. Rinses are cold. After completion...

Run a Whitest Whites hot cycle on heavy soil, not sanitary. Sanitary does not spray as much, you want the hot bleach water to clean the spray nozzle. Pour 1 cup of bleach in dispenser left (without liquid insert) side as washer starts to fill. Close drawer quickly. Now the mixing chamber will get churned with the bleach for the 5 min mix time. Some may notice the brown gunk coming out of the nozzle spray, as I did once to my horror. Never did I have that issue again with my Electrolux using this method.
