Antique door knob part identification

I am currently restoring an old house and need to replace the door knob rosettes. Underneath the rosettes are this peices that I have since discovered are a sort of spacer for the door knob spindles that keep the knob from sliding back and forth. My question is has anyone found where one can buy more of these or is there a differnt solution to this problem such as washers?

I have no idea what exactly you are talking about, (a picture would be extremely helpful) but perhaps you can find what you need at a Habitat Re-Store, or an architectural salvage shop, or even on ebay (I found a replacement for my broken vintage screen door knob there.)
