I agree with honed finish and like the idea of a darker floor—it will add warmth and show less dirt and grime! Of course it will need to transition well to your other rooms too.

I agree with Jeanne on the finsihes. Love a dark floor for contrast! They’re a little more high maintenance than a medium toned floor bc they show more crumbs, but a kitchen should be kept clean anyway :).

What is the flooring in the rest of the house, and all adjacent areas ? No renovation lives in isolation.

There is NO need to select a backsplash prior to cabinet and counter installation . Best is after, when you can stand actual samples on that counter top,, and make a judgement in the much more finished space. It can not be installed until cabinet and tops are in place.

Also? I would avoid any bevel. : ) on tiled splash. It creates a busyness not necessary.

All the adjacent rooms will have the same flooring as we are redoing them as well.

Our contracter would really like the backsplash picked out in advance.

As far as the bevel on the backsplash I think it is gorgeous in the inspiration pics so that is the look I am going for. with plain white cabinets and a relatively simple counter top a plain white back splash I feel would be too dull.

Bumping up for any other ideas for a counter top that would look good with white cabinets.

For countertops try a white base with minimal gray veining. I think it’ll work better with the space. You will add color through lighting, flowers, decor, candles, pictures, towels...

If your nervous about the color you can do something more funky with the backsplash but I think the style your after is very simple white bright colors. With lots of textures. I think it’ll look great!!

I was a little nervous of a white base not matching the cabinets as there are so many different shades of white. Are there any you suggest?
