I need help on stair/landing flooring

We have converted our attic into a media room and need help picking out flooring for the staircase. The stairs will start from my office which has a wood look ceramic tile. Towards the top of the stairs there is a landing which has a wet bar and then you have to go up a few more stairs to the media room. The media room will have carpet.

I wanted to do LVP on the stairs and wet bar, but the flooring store I went to highly discouraged LVP or wood on the stairs due to the slickness. Also we have dogs that will be using the stairs as well. If we do carpet on the stairs, I assume it will need to be the same carpet as the media room. My only concern with carpet is the wet bar. What do we do there?

Please help!

I would do a fun retro (or encaustic) tile for the bar area and carpet the stairs.

You could get creative in there. :)

Use the LVP on the stairs and add a runner. Dogs and people will be happy...

FYI! Not all LVP has appropriate matching trim pieces for stairs and not certain how attaching runner will affect integrity of vinyl. We decided to carpet full width of stairs with no vinyl.

Match the landing to the office and carpet the stairs.

We have LVP on out stairs with a nice matching vinyl stair nosing not slippery at all and certainly not any worse than hardwood. I would do LVP everywhere including the media room where popcorn and drinks will be spilled for sure

The stairs had to be designed with a finish material in mind, to keep them code compliant for riser and run. What material were they designed to use? If you dont know, that probably means carpet. Its the far better choice to muffle the thundering herd on the stairs to a media room.
