Glass inserts for 6 panel exterior wood door?

I'm looking for any info regarding adding glass inserts to wood 6 panel exterior doors (type of glass required, pros/cons, issues, etc)

Front doors currently:

Front doors desired :

I'm open to hear all thoughts/ideas/suggestions, whether for or against.

Buy new doors. These doors had the panels installed as the door was assembled so there is no good ways to get the panels out without damaging the doors. They all need to be tempered insulated glass as well. Far easier and faster to get a new door- you might get two door slabs and fit to the existing jamb but for very little additional cost buy a unit so it’s all hinged and weatherstripped.

The glass panels can certainly be installed but a door like this eliminates any screen door options.

IMO to have your door reworked to accept glass panels will be a lot more money than a new door with glass. BTW I live in a glass house honestly more then 50% of our exterior is glass and I have not found strangers lurking and looking into my house . and to be honesy who cares we are not doing anything someone can't see .FYI there are phantom screens for all types of doors we have one for each of our 3 glass doors.

@HALLETT & Co. Unfortunately the ones that I like are ridiculously priced. However, I do like the 6 glass panes, so I was hoping that the conversion wouldn't be very expensive.

@apple_pie_order Not only does the foyer open into the kitchen. there are folding doors at that point as well, so it isn't an issue.

@BeverlyFLADeziner That is very nice, is it yours? If so, I'm very interested in any information that you can share,

I've already ruled out screen/storm doors because they require a center jamb and I want to retain the full width of the double opening.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting I doubt it'd cost as much as the door that I like best, but I'm having trouble getting a quote on having it done. I've requested estimates from a few on this site. Nobody even replied.

@chloebud Did you attempt something similar and have a bad experience?
