What colors do you like? Do you have any art that you like that would give you some clues as to what direction to go in? Maybe teal and cream?

You have a wonderful blank space to begin with. As Kandrewspa says, above, start with Art that you love. BIG ART. And/or a wonderful rug. You will need one to soften the space. Then….launch from there. For bedding (or keep it simple with white on white). Add colors from the art and rug in pillows, a side chair, etc. But think BIG in terms of the art and the rug. And get what you love. Have some fun with this!

Do you know what color that wall is? Looks to be sueded??? Agree that a rug you'd take with you anywhere and love, or art you can't live without, would be the way to start. Keep the rest neutral.

Thank you for all your helpful comments. I had in mind natural colours also, materials such as cactus silks for the pillows, but these can be quite expensive (and I have 10 rooms to fill). I will look for some nice art to help fill wall, and a rug to match.
