Kitchen Addition Remodel - Suggested Questions for GC

We’re getting ready for initial meetings with a few contractors for a kitchen addition and remodel to our small 1935 home. Our project also includes a small laundry room as well as stairs to a future attic bedroom and bathroom. I’ve got a good list of question ideas but am curious to hear the “hindsight is 20/20” ones that you wish you would have asked your contractor at the beginning of the process. Thanks!

I wish we had asked our contractor whether he would file for all required permits, and what we needed to provide him with for that purpose. Don't assume even the basic stuff.

I found this thread a while back; the author has apparently since been banned from Houzz, probably for being too direct/unfiltered. But it is a good read nonetheless...

Make sure that you hire a designer who communicates with your contractor. Don't ask him to wear both hats.
