Are you referring to a unitary stacked set (which can be a topload or frontload washer) manufactured as such and can't be separated for operation, or to a pair of a frontload washer and a dryer that can be installed either side-by-side or in a stacked configuration?

We have a LG wash tower being delivered on Saturday. Love that the controls are all in the middle, so easy to reach. I’ve read good reviews on this machine. On sale now at Home Depot.

to be more specific, i was looking at a 'laundry center' which is what they are called now, so yes a W/D stacked as a set, not to be separated. looking for DS, so there is limit to his budget... would like to be in $1500 range. for 2 people...

The LG Washtower is $2200, so way over DS (?) budget. But you can stack the LG WM3400CW washer and LG DLE3400W dryer for $1700.

@wdccruise watch for sales. We got it for $1700.

thanks wdccruise and nhbaskets... he is no rush right now to purchase, so he will wait for a sale.. not moving in till April-June, just depends how fast the work can get done... he can always come here till his set is delivered... but doing some 'homework' for him so rooms can arranged accordingly!

I Love my LG washtower!

I think the LG washtower is stylish, but do any of you who have purchased it worry that one of the units will become unrepairable long before the other unit, and you will be forced with replacing the entire set at that time? I think back to my Kenmore set; the spider arm broke on my washer after 10 years, but the dryer was still going strong.

Dryers are simpler machines and typically last longer than washers. Maybe they have the washtower dryer engineered to match the washer's expected service life ...

armjim: your comment reminds me of my original W/D. Had our first set, Kenmore from Sears when that was all they sold, washer lasted 18 years and dryer was still going strong!! Put my dryer on Freecycle, gone is a matter of days, bought an LG FL and matching dryer and still going with one repair, performed by me :)

so only on my 2nd set in 32 years, not bad at all in my eyes !!

I purchased the LG wash tower from Home Depot and it was $1528 for white. If you wanted either dark green or red, it was even less at our HD.

This thread popped up and I realized I never came back to review my LG Washtower. We love it! Have noticed our water bill has decreased since installing this. Love how it weighs the load to determine the wash time. We wipe the glass, gasket and dispenser after each use and leave them open a bit for a day. No mold issues thus far. This is installed in a closet, so we had a cabinet built next to the unit. We’ve had numerous washer and dryers over the past 40 years and this is by far my favorite!
