Alright so you all helped me so much with my last question that I'm already back again. This one should be more challenging though. So I picked up this side table/coffee table at auction this week and am trying to figure out whether or not the tortoise shell veneer used is real or fake. The stamp implies it was built in 51' and as I understand it tortoise shell wasn't made illegal to use until 77' in the US. Are there any tips or tricks (or maybe something on the stamp) that could help me determine exactly what I have here?* Thanks ahead of time!
