I need to see the spaces and also a to scale floor plan. I have to say most garage conversions always look like exactly that so a pic form outside would also help. Did you not put windows in the garage when you converted it I am confused how the window you are talking about is needed at the entry.

I’ll try to post a floorplan. No concerns at all about the outside view. The garage door is now two sets of French doors and the layout is such that it doesn’t look like a former garage. The issue is that the space is deep and so despite having windows on all three exterior walls it is still darker that I would have liked in the snug so I need the borrowed light coming in from the gym/office space - hence the glazed doors between the two rooms.

Real dilemma is whether to use the room as a gym and keep office in separate building (but feels a bit odd to be able to see the gym equipment) or to put the gym in the separate building (history has shown us we then don’t use it much)

This was a rough plan for calculating floor space so it roughly shows the rooms I’m dealing with (two on the left). The large back space is the snug (about 7m x 6m). The front space is the potential gym (about 6m x 2.5m)

My gym is 2.7 m x 5.9 m it is just barely big enough for my equipment . I really wonder why you did not plan the gym at the back of the space instead so maye I am missing some info. I would not want to see gym equipment through nice frnech doors at the front of a home. I think maybe the office in that space and the gym somehere else.

The back space comes straight off the main hallway so that would also have been odd walking through the gym to get to the snug. I think it should be a study. Husband wants the gym in the house..

We don’t have masses of gym equipment, exercise bike, running machine and single person yoga space is all we need

It looks like because you only have a single french door in the middle of the interior wall, that any equipment might be able to be somewhat hidden from view when it is placed over at the sides. In fact, just an elliptical and treadmill on one side, temporary yoga in the middle, and office space on the opposite side looks to me like you are set. Exterior doors open out so no interference with swings either. Also, that huge beam breaking up the ceiling is going to define a sliver of a floor space between it and the new interior wall, so account for that in your snug's furniture layout.
