Budget per window, including any curtain rods?

It would probably help if you post pictures of at least a couple rooms so everyone gets a good picture of your style. Different people like different things so you will probably get recommendations all over the map. Ultimately you are going to have to decide for yourself what you want and it could be different depending on which room it is.

If you are on the east coast I can recommend Blinds to Go. They will come to your house for a consultation. They have products similar to HD but don't cost as much. We bought everything for our previous house from them and lived there 16 years. We have bought everything from them again in our new house. Never had anything break. If you aren't on the east coast there are probably still other companies local to you who do this from whom you can get quotes. I'm sure they all have Yelp reviews you can refer to.

I have no idea without seeing the spaces . I personally hate woven blinds but it depends on your style , what you want from window coverings too. Post pics of the spaces and see what comes up It could be that not every room needs the same too.

And also keep in mind that we have not furnished it yet, nor had bench cushions made. We are using old furniture, but I'll soon be working on the furnishings, area rugs included.

Do you need privacy or light blocking or are these just decorative?

My first impression is that white faux wood blinds with an inside mount would look great with those windows. No idea if those are still in style, but I love the way they look and they are super functional. And you can always put curtains over them later.

If you're looking to do some of these windows in a very cost effective way, Lowe's has Levelor cut to width woven blinds at the store. They come in 3 different colors and are cordless. We used them in some of our windows and I'm very happy with them. They are inexpensive enough, and look good enough that you could even get them until you figure out more expensive options down the line.

I agree that you might want to look at the large stores like Loews and Home Depot. They have several styles of shades and they are not expensive. Why don’t you buy shades for one room to see how you like them before doing the whole house. I like the blinds made with folded fabric that expands to a square shape when they are lowered. I think those or wide slat blinds would look very pretty. IMO the woven shades are not the right style for the rooms in your photos. I would also look at lots of photos to narrow down the choices. Try to find pictures of windows like yours in a room decorated in a style that speaks to you. Make note of the type and color combinations. You might like several different styles. Since you also need to do furniture and rugs, it would be best to develop your overall plan to create a cohesive look. You may not buy everything at the same time but when you do it will come together.

More info: We live in the country but have people who come to a T in the roads with headlights facing our house. We have a ton of windows so we are literally like a fish tank with people looking right through our house. We need privacy, not blackout, and in most cases not light filtering. Thanks for all of your comments so far. Has anyone heard of Horizon blinds? Someone mentioned them locally. I'm not sure if they are just as expensive as H-D.

If you can afford it, the down/up blinds are the bomb....you get lower half privacy while still letting in the light, or raise them all the way up for full viewing.

Definitely something inside mounted so your nice woodwork still shows, and considering how close to the fireplace the windows are. If your decor could use some texture I think simple natural fiber shades. I've seen custom fitted matchstick ones from Lowes look quote nice.

I've read lots of articles where the interior designers shared their secret window treatment, and it's the bamboo shades from Home Depot or Lowes. My parents recently upgraded their window treatments from outdated lace curtains to bamboo shades, and it looks so beautiful. They live in a 1920 farmhouse in the country. Those shades really are pretty and relatively inexpensive.

I have also had a good experience with Blinds.com. I've ordered lined cordless roman shades from them, and corded loop roman shades. We're doing a remodel right now, and I am leaning toward getting inside mounted roller shades to use for functionality, and then I'll layer pretty roman shades or curtains over that as I decide what I want. From experience and as I learn more, roman shades are not good for daily use because the strings get crooked over time and will drive you crazy. The roller shades can be pretty invisible when rolled up. We have wooden blinds in our rental and I really dislike them. Difficult to raise/lower and they make the room feel dark even if the blinds are in the open position.

These pics are all outside mount but with your windows, I think I'd do inside mount because you have pretty trim.

If I were you, I would call a local blind company in your area. I wouldn’t do Lowes or Home Depot. You will not get personalized service. I did use JC Penney for shutters and shades about 8 years ago. Very pleased with their service. Ask neighbors who they have used.

I HATE curtains. We have used Hunter Douglas honeycomb shades in our last 3 houses. They insulate well when down and pull up to almost disappear, leaving your windows wide open. Warranty is extremely good, too.
Markup on these are high, so the companies make a profit even when they sell them at 50% off sales.
If your windows are new and true, it isn’t hard to measure them. Sam’s Club and Costco sell comparable blinds at good pricing.

We used Blinds.com for a bunch of windows -- honeycomb top-down-bottom-ups, woven shades, and romans. Exactly the same material as the Shade Store, but 1/3 of the price. My husband installed them himself, but if you don't want to do that, you can get blinds.com to do it for you.

Hi, There are lots of things to consider but based on not wanting drapery and the fact that you have nice deep windows, you have lots of options. Woven woods as suggested could be gorgoues but def a higher price point. You could also consider roller shades/solar shades/cellular shades. The cost is based on how many windows you have, thier size and the product you choose. hope that helps.

Woven blinds in the same color as your fireplace mantle would look like gorgeous and would showcase all of that beautiful molding. Curtains would just hide it.

I am a dealer who sells a lot of Horizons blinds. Horizons gives you a great limited lifetime warranty and their products are very high quality. In my opinion they are just as good as H-D but less expensive. But keep in mind they are truly custom so they will still be more than if you were to go to Home Depot/Lowes, but you also pay for what you get. If you like the look, texture, and warmth woven shades bring into your space but don't like the cost, they have a great roller shade material that looks like a natural woven but is much more cost efficient. It is our best seller. We have also done a lot of homes similar to yours with it and it looks great!

With pets I would stay away from both curtains and woven shades because I have seen them get ruined on multiple different occasions from pets. The roller shades are super durable, easy to clean, and can have either an attached chain or spring control so you don't have to worry about any pets climbing on cords. They also provide privacy without being blackout.

Your windows are beautiful ! There are many things that i dislike about the current window treaments that are often popular. My main complaint is how horrible they look from the outside. Many of them look like either brown paper bags or white sheets !

You have the perfect windows for cafe curtains ! I would use white curtains on rings on a decorative rod. The curtains can be light weight cotton or even sheers. They are very inexpensive, washable, and can be easily opened and closed.

The other option would be white plantation shutters. They can be fully opened by day and closed at night. Simple dusting means easy care. Plus, they look great from the outside.
