zone 5 is about half the US ranging from MI down pretty far south ... give us a big city name..

zone is also minimum winter temp predicted at the single coldest day of the winter ... and what happens if its cloudy on that day.. which it usually is ... i dont understand how you can overcome that only relying on solar ... and keep in mind.. the coldest part of a winter day is night.. when there is no solar to heat with ....

i think you have a lot of variables to think about before you decide on which particular house to buy ... starting with what you want to grow in it during winter ... im thinking in z5 with no heat.. at best.. you could use it to store dormant plants ....

now if all you want to do is get an extra month of season on either side of winter.. then maybe it will suit that purpose ...

I am in New England. I wanted to get a battery bank and a solar panel with an electric heater. I also wanted to order one from “plant a green houses .com “ I thought maybe it would work with a battery bank to power it during the night. The greenhouses from that website are meant for crazy cold winters

if you are new to houses.. i might suggest you invest smaller.. and see if you can run one thru a summer season before you invest thousands trying to beat ma nature ... year round ...

i know nothing about your solar battery dreams ... so ill avoid that
