That's an odd website. They're here, and they seem to be doing fine.

The article is tall on claims, and short on references. It seems based more upon the author's assumptions than fact. As an active SSE member, I can state that the organization is not only fully functional, they are making greater effort to get seeds out of their vaults, and into the hands of seed savers. As for the claim about Svalbard, Kent was indeed against the agreement - but he was expelled (wrongfully IMO) due to other issues.

I have often disagreed with some of SSE's policies, and openly stated my opinion on this forum & elsewhere. Most of those disagreements were due to unilateral decisions by the Board, made without consideration of the membership. Fortunately that situation appears to be improving, and the organization is increasing its outreach efforts.
