I would find it too stark, but not everyone likes the same thing. You will have to try some samples to see what works for you, but I would use Simply White or Acadia White. I used Timid White in my northfacing basement room, but it looks a little yellow which is not for everyone. To me it looks like candlelight and I love the effect. My husband thinks it just looks white. Color is so subjective. :-)

Thank you, especially whites it seems….I have Simply White on the trim now and Wickham Grey on walls, want to go whiter but not too cold. Will have a look at Acadia White, thanks!

The easiest option would be to do Simply White on the walls too just in a different sheen. Because finding a white to work with Simply White trim that fits what you're looking for would be a bit challenging because there aren't that many to choose from.
