Lights. I think it could be a very pretty room. I would go somewhere like cost plus world market and buy a bunch of lighter pillows and play with them. 22 inches 20 etc. if they do t work rerun them. Also I would add some artwork over fireplace and add some large scale art to warm the room up.

Some simple budget friendly swaps taken right from your inspiration photo!! …the mix of decorative pillows on the sofa would look great on your sectional. A large green plant for your corner. (May need to move/relocate one or both floor lamps.) A woven or wrapped cage basket on your hearth for throws. A couple woven trays (2 different sizes..1 smaller, 1 larger) arranged with some of your smaller plants with some brass decor included on the mantle. Furnishing the entry with a nice console table with organic decor and a bamboo coatrack between the windows will carry the feel into that space too! Perhaps a long console with shelves for your books behind the sectional. Edit your small decor…when the budget allows, bring in larger but fewer items.

Oh yeah lol the entry will be a whole new project, I haven’t even began starting on that one yet. So do you think I need to get warm tone pillows? The damn couch is just such a cool darker tone in person, it’s killing me.

Your space probably has room for a true sectional, so you can watch tv without turning your head.

I would remove that hunk in front of the couch, it's taking up way too much room, visually and in real life I would think.

Pink/blush pillows don't go with the color of your couch. Need something warm to blend with it.

Pull the rug so it touches the fireplace.

All the legs on the couch should be on the rug.

Don't do lots of itty bitty accessories.

What are you using the area behind the sofa for?

Put your hands on decor and you get nice decorated room. Amazon has nice velvet inexpensive pillow cases. I would create entrance way with console, mirror or wall art above. Get light curtains from ceiling to floor. get shade for your naked lamp and so on...

Angel - thank you for the advice, I’ll definitely try the trick with the rug. And yes, when I ordered the blush pillows they seemed warmer but once I put them on the couch I HATED them. I haven’t had the chance to get to the entry way yet, it won’t be vacant forever.

Celery - thank you for reminding me about the lamp shade 😂, I keep forgetting it! I’m going to get to the entry way soon. The photos with the pillows are extremely helpful thank you so much. I’ll probably try to get a different coffee table soon as well.

Can you flip the living room rug with the one I see a bit of in the entry?

Also, the large ottoman is exacerbating the size and color of the sectional, in not a good way.

With the ottoman gone, replaced by the rug, add pillows to the sectional which work with the rub.

Judianna, I actually had that rug under the couch first but the room is so dark with it, I’m trying to bounce some light upward. I think the light rig is just slightly too small. Yeah I’ll move the ottoman. My boyfriend and I leave it there so he can stretch his legs out when we watch movies since I sit in the corner, but everyone is right, it’s bulky.
