Help with Outside Siding Colors

My sister is building a house (like with her own hands) and has done an amazing job on construction. However, she didn’t give a lot of thought to design. Could anyone recommend colors, accessories, etc that would jazz up this house? I’m all over the board with white, navy, green. I do believe in the future she’s planning on building a front porch that would match the size of the cement slab outside the front door. The front doors won’t be changed. TIA!!!!

Too bad she is forgoing the yummy yellow siding. I would do white on top, yellow on the bottom and the garage, and white on the trim. Large cedar posts for the porch.

Is there a neighborhood the house must fit into, or is this out and away from such influences? You can never go wrong with white, if she likes the more traditional farmhouse look. If the climate gets very warm there, dark colors might tend to heat up and to fade. She has missed the opportunity for black windows, but that may not be a lasting trend anyway. Landscaping will be key for her.

First off, she has done a wonderful job building her own home! Congratulations for her skills a perseverance! I like the lightest color you have painted on the front of the house. I am not a pro, so hopefully, more people will comment.

I think that she should figure out what she really likes before making a decision.

All of us have colors we love and colors we really don't like, Our favorite colors are often associated with happy memories and seeing the color makes our brains produce dopamine and we feel happy.

These colors are usually the same colors that look really good on us. Feeling like a 10 may produce memories that make us happy.

When I plan colors for a home I always want to incorporate these colors into the design with art, décor items, area carpets, linens, upholstery, . .

These colors then drive my decision on what neutral color family is going complement those colors and become the perfect backdrop for the art and furniture and décor items displayed in the home.

I want the interior and exterior to work well together. Can you imagine the outside painted a light, soft yellow and you walk in and the entire interior is decorated with deep, moody rooms or the opposite - the outside is painted some dark gray color and you walk in and the entire interior is a beach palette.

Getting this right is less about picking what is popular than picking colors that will make your sister's heart sing when she sees her home or walks through the rooms of her home.

Design/colors isn’t really her strong suit! I agree that landscaping is going to make a huge impact. And shutters, maybe?

We do live in GA where the weather gets very hot. I think the navy is a great option but am a bit nervous making such a bold choice. I think we’ve narrowed it down to The dark blue or White Dove. Any other opinions? The home isn’t near other homes and overlooks a mountain and lake.
