Yes This has been such a pain point. Appreciate the insight. Dont want to put anything there really but need to put something in front of oven. Any alternatives to stainless behind the cook?

What is the countertop? Use that?

I agree with other posters - take the tile to the bottom on the hood and to the sill of the glass block windows. On the right side wall I might suggest taking the tile to align with the front face of the upper cabinet. I agree with Jan Moyer - a vertical tile might seem odd and might emphasize the narrow nature of that part of your kitchen.

If you do the backsplash material you could do something like this under the windows and behind the stove to right under the vent hood.

Thanks all for bringing me back to sanity! The Countertop will be quartz. Wish I would have posted this question sooner to save myself some time stressing!
