Cambria Inverness Frost

Has anyone used this for kitchen countertops? I love the color as it is a bright white with light veining, just worried that the material is not a smooth quartz like some others. Thoughts?

My contractor told me this morning that Cambria‘s rep will guest host a party at your house if youve installed Cambria. They bring hors d’oeuvres and covktauls and you invite the guests. We’re going to look into this. Has anyone done this with Cambria?

    I meant cocktails!

I love that you posted a cup of cream for comparison! Lol! It looks great! Thanks for posting pics and telling us your paint color @midcentura!

My cat enjoyed the bowl of cream!

I recieved an email from the rep at the showroom. she said that when i install the countertops to take a picture and send them to her because she would ”love to celebrate with me”. im not sure what that means but maybe it is a party…

@jenlcfarrell Yes, Inverness Frost definitely has some "warmer" undertones but does not read ivory. @midcentura is absolutely correct when she compared it to a bowl of half & half. I don't know if you've chosen your cabinet color yet, but the undertones really make the difference.

My cabinets read white but have a slightly warm undertone. They're Diamond Intrigue in Painted White. They're a great match, with very little contrast, which is what I was going for. Plus, my kitchen faces north, so the light is very cool. It would have felt very drab and sterile if I had chosen white cabinets with a gray undertone (in my space).

The same goes for natural or interior illumination. It can change the feel of the space and paint too.

@midcentura Your bathroom install is looking great! Please keep posting pictures!

@cupofkindnessgw I love blue and have used it as an accent color throughout my house as we've been renovating it for the last three years. I found that particular tile about 4-4.5 years ago and knew I wanted it as my backsplash. I hadn't chosen anything for the kitchen other than wanting white cabinets and not using natural stone. (I've used natural stone in two bathrooms, a laundry room, and a wet bar. I love it but wanted my kitchen to be easy to maintain.) I know they say to choose a backsplash once the countertops are in but I had a vision and worked toward it.

@MF Thanks, I'll post photos of the kitchen and bathrooms mid June when they're done and I've thoroughly cleaned everything!

Does anyone feel like the textured finish makes them feel like they need to wipe the counter top off? From a distance, it appears like there is water or something spilled on it when you look from afar? im not sure if i would get used to that.

Our bathroom remodels are now complete and we’ve been living with the Inverness Frost counter tops for a week and a half. They are beautiful! The textured veins are so special and my eye goes to them because they are so special. They’re spaced out fairly distanced from one another so the effect is not overwhelming. The counter tops are very easy to clean, just a little bit of soap and a Swedish cloth quick wipe down every few days. I’ll post photos later today!

This bathroom with the Inverness Frost countertop has more dramatically placed textured veins. It’s very easy to keep clean, just a quick swipe with water or a little soap and water.

This guest bathroom with Inverness Frost countertop has less veining but is still so beautiful. It has a 6” mitered apron which adds to the drama. We love it.

@midcentura Your bathrooms look amazing! I especially love the 6" edge with the walnut vanity! Thank you for posting.

@Julie Schwab I don't feel that way about them. When the light hits it, you can see the texture compared to the smooth areas, but it doesn't look like something that needs to be cleaned off or water sitting on it.

@midcentura I love the way your bathrooms turned out! Thanks so much for sharing pictures!

These pictures look so great - we are debating on using a full slab as our backsplash or go with tile...for those that used tile, what color tile/type have you used? Looking for suggestions on what color coordinates with the inverness frost

I am using Inverness Frost in our condo reno and found a blend from Oceanside Glass Tile that I love. It comes in a small hex and an elongated hex which is what I selected. Not installed yet but the samples look lovely together.

We just installed Iverness Frost on our 8 ft kitchen island and absolutely LOVE IT!!! It's gorgeous!!

@HU-73342145 Could you please post pictures? We would love to see your new counter! I am heavily considering this quartz, but am still a little leery about the debossing/indentations, keeping them clean and staining. I left tomatoes on my sample and can't get the groove clean. I think I need to reach out to a Cambria representive.

I just had them installed and in my house they are white.

@Wendy Paley, could you please post pictures of your Inverness install?

@MinnesotaMary, Have you gotten your install done yet? If you have can you post pictures please?

    Hi,
Kitchen isn’t finished but quartz is installed. IF is not cream like the sample. The sample was creamy white with a beige and black color veining. I was able to see the slab and decided I wanted a quartz that was very neutral. The slab is very different than the samples. IF is very elegant but not a show stopper. I attempted to take accurate pictures for you but it didn’t really work. I’m happy but just be sure you don’t want something more dramatic.

Also, after reading your posts weeks ago regarding the staining of the tomatoes, I literally left red wine and ketchup on my big sample that Cambria sent to me. I had no problem in the dents.

Thanks for the update, Wendy! I had just run across another Houzz thread that mentioned the sample being creamy and the actual being different, more gray, I think. I was wanting the more creamy, so I may have to rethink this choice. Thanks!

    Hi,
Just to give you an update.
After the island was repainted and the new lights installed, I ended up loving IF. In my home the quartz is white as I mentioned earlier. I used it in the laundry room as well, it’s still white. The look is elegant and timeless. Although the samples are not representative of the end product, I am thrilled with/the end results. Just a reminder though, if you are still looking for a creamy quartz, this is not the one.

Inverness frost with BM Simply White paint, polished nickel faucet and white sink. I need to hang a towel rack because the current one is sitting on the best veining. I was so nervous about IF because it is not popular and the color is different but I love it. The texture catches your eye, especially in low light!

I have York Driftwood Grey cabinets. Do you think this would go well with them? I am looking for a white background and I like the idea of the frost emboss. But is the frost silvery (what I prefer and not goldish? I can't tell from any photos I have seen online or videos. Your kitchen looks beautiful btw.

  • last year

Kathi, I think a driftwood gray-colored cabinet would look beautiful with the Inverness Frost. The embossing is a silvery, warm gray color rather than gold.

thank you! I love it so much! unfortunately there is only one fabricator who has the agreement with Cambria to sell their prodiuct and this fabricator will not work with mine!

We installed inverness frost countertops in our kitchen and are now trying to figure out a good white paint color for the cabinets. We are considering the Benjamin Moore Simply White. Will that be too warm for IF? Any recommendations for other white colors that will go well with IF?

We used SW Extra White on our cabinets and trim with the Inverness Frost. This is in a FL condo that doesn't get a lot of light in the kitchen (shotgun floorplan). We painted the surrounding walls with Farrow and Ball Borrowed Light which has a soft barely there blue tint so did not want to get too warm with the white but also did not want stark white. Here are some photos (ceiling cans are at 3500K). The IF doesn't photograph the best but you get the idea. My BS looks a bit gray here but IRL, it works well with the countertop.

I just finished my counter tops. I purchased 4 slabs from Cambria Iverness Fross. I am so disappointed. My fabricator purchased the slabs for me because Cambria does not sell directly to people only contractos or fabricator.

I assume if i bought from Cambria I didn't have to worried. it did never occur to me that I need it to check the slabs when they got deliver to the fabricator.

three weeks later when they were all done the slab for the island had the marks of Inverness Fross but not the debossing the indentations in the stone ( the main and only reason I bought then. 😒

so $ 21.000 later and I am not happy.

Have you talked to your fabricator? Something doesn't sound right. If the fabricator can't assist, go directly to Cambria. Certainly, one of the main design elements of Inverness Frost is the textural veining in the product. You need to pursue a solution and good luck. Let us know what you find out.

  • last year

Could you post pictures, please? That seems strange, indeed i like the pattern and veining of Inverness, but wish is had a little less depth, or debossing & is why i am considering another pattern from Cambria. So unless the patrern dis with the debossing, yoir problem would have been exactly what i would like.

    I agree with @minnesotamary

Check w/ the fabricator and or Cambria direct.

@ M F Could you tell me what color you painted your walls in your kitchen? Thank you!

  • last year

@Kim Hasty, the walls in my kitchen are BM Revere Pewter, cut by 50% to make them lighter.

Old post, but new question - For those of you with Inverness frost is it better with warm white cabinets or bright white cabinets. I ordered warm white cabinets. I saw varying posts that mention the sample looks much different than the slab.

I would say it leans warmer. I used what is considered a neutral white and I can definitely see that a warmer color would work well.

I also have Inverness Frost going on 2 years and I still love them. When people sit at my island they can't stop touching the matte veining. I paired mine with Revere Pewter cabinets and my kitchen faces south for reference. They are definitely on the warmer side.

@lcm1986 Inverness is now our top choice, but I am always looking for new pictures to conform. Could you post pictures of your island? Pictures are so helpful to all of us trying to decide. Thanks!

@shelley paul thank you! Was a loooong labor of love but finally enjoying it. I realized the big beam that frames the "entrance" of the kitchen and ties in with the hood isn't seen here so if the wood on the range nook seems out of place that's why 😊. Best of luck to you in your remodel

I have a stark white 72 inch double sink vanity and matching tower.
I am considering tiles with a grey undertone with white. Will inverness frost for vanity top and chantilly lace or white dove on walls work. I have a skylight in bathroom.

your kitchen is stunning! what edge profile did you choose? is it eased?
