Where do you keep laundry soaps and other products?…where do you store dirty laundry?…where do you fold sheets..and other laundry?…where do you hang laundry that doesnt get folded?..and lastly do you plan to have an electrician in… to be sure all of that part will be safe going forward..after those concerns …have you considered a stacked washer and dryer that would allow some counter or shelves for these other needs?

so its a new house... so def have to factor that in. hanging laundry has a separate rod outside of this closet.

The electrical looks to be quite messy. Take care of safety issues first, then move on to function, then form.

I just double checked with my husband- all those wires are going to be gone.

as per function- looking to get in there shelves to store detergents and rags. spare linen would be a bonus... the counter top would be great just to have a surface to deal with the laundry.

I would be looking into re-locating the laundry room…this space is never going to be a nice place to be ….like your inspiration pics…nor does it have room for all the things you need in a well functioning laundry room…

this is a city house so space is at a premium here...The laundry room can't be moved.

Do you have a photo that shows both washer and dryer from farther away?

Check the furnace manual online to see how much clearance you need between it and anything else, especially flammable things like a wood shelf.

Before you replace the washer and dryer, and after the extra wires (and intercom?) are removed, give the whole wall a fresh coat of white paint. Whatever is handy will be fine as it will give you a good clean base for your chosen color later on. If you have chosen a new paint color already, just use white primer to give you a good base coat.

yes, we are repainting the wall (white). I'm thinking to do those diy stick on backsplashes just to give it a nicer look.

We cut opening in bathroom closet, for access in the hall, added doors, and it was very practical. Yours - is there a bit of space just outside the room?

I've seen long storage 'drawers' built into base of a bed - might be able to find them. Store.. idk long things. ;)

I have a small awkward space in a kitchen nook area. I switched to an all in one unit about 15 years ago, put up some peel & stick wallpaper and had shelving built.
