Sunrise Windows vs Simonton

Hello! I have narrowed down our replacement window search to Sunrise windows or Simonton 5500. I did not get the exact line for sunrise but it includes the omega 12 glass, reinforced sashes, and polyurethane core. The Simonton 5500 is essentially as it comes with low e and argon fill. I am leaning towards sunrise as being the better window, but the thing that is getting me is that I've never heard of the brand before. Should I trust they will be around long enough that the lifetime warranty actually means something?

Sunrise quote for 40 windows is $30,125

Simonton quote for 40 is $27,000

Thanks! I know it isn't their essential line. Trying to find out from them which line it actually is. I definitely like the thinner frames vs simonton.

Good feedback above, the Sunrise is a much better window and a better value at that pricing if all else is equal (installation, etc).

Simonton is by Ply Gym, which is mch larger and older than Mi,.

Simonton has a better reputation, better after sale service and warranty response, they have a series call Asure, with a narrow frame, and it is better product than Sinrise,

All the replies, you may receive by dealers, may bias due to selling this product, and even for dealer who sell both, may direct you for the more expensive one.

Try tell the dealer that you budget is limited, and they will tell you that the cheaper is better :) .

Away from selling techniques, Simonton is a better product.

    Huh?

Miter brands' (MI) recent merger with PGT alone was worth 3.1 billion dollars. They are also part of KII which is over $125 billion in revenue and one of the largest companies in the US in any industry.

Plygem was something like $6 billion.

At the end of the day both are billion dollar companies and EXTRAORDINARILY large (for better and/or worse), but to state that "plygem is much larger" is incorrect and frankly irrelevant based on the overall size of these "mega" companies.

Being someone that sells neither, has installed both, my opinion is that the Sunrise window is superior. The assure isn't even near the top of the Simonton line up, its a entry level, cost-based window not intended to compete with a premium unit like Sunrise and others. There are very few times in life where cheaper will be found to be better, and this is certainly not one of them.

Yeah. The post just prior to HomeSealed's missed the mark...by a wide margin. Sunrise is the better window...by margin.
