65" is the way to go. 55" would be too small for that space.

jwatters - I like how you 'framed' around the frame. The trimwork works well. Is that the custom bezel or an even thicker one?

Alexandra, we have a 48" frame in the kitchen over the fireplace. The smaller tv was the right choice for us.

It may also be very helpful to tape/mock up the dimensions you are looking at, and live with them for a few days.

Oldbat2be - I love how yours looks too! (Plus adorable GSD). The white frame is the Gloss White option from DecoTV Frames. We taped ours out too before deciding on the smaller size!

Does it affect viewing with the tv being so flushed to the wall and unable to slant down with it being high up the fire place?

jwatters99 - We are in the process of re doing our mantel. I love the placement of your TV. How far off the ground is the top of your fire box and top of your mantel. Also, how far above the mantel us the bottom of the TV frame?

It doesn’t negatively affect our viewing at all. Lots of people seem to think it’s a one way ticket to the chiropractor to have the tv positioned like this. That is not our experience at all. Your mileage may vary.

Floor to top of fire box = 31”. Floor to top of black granite surround = 40”. Floor to top of mantel = 55.5”. Mantel to bottom of tv frame = 4”. Good luck with your project!
