In my opinion, yes it would.

What I would do is see how you feel once you’re in the house, then use window privacy tint to blur the areas you find you need to. That’s what we did, and it ended up being a lot less areas than we originally thought, plus it’s not permanent. The privacy tint selections these days are vast!

If you feel you are too exposed once you move in, you can also hire a glass etching company afterwords to do a design on your door that looks attractive and blocks some of the view.

I got an exterior glass door for my laundry room with 3 glass panes. The door is a bit exposed to the neighbors driveway, so I used frosted film to cover the 2 lower panes. It gives privacy and keeps the much needed natural light. Our neighbors ended up building their house much further back than we thought, which exposed the door more than planned. The window film works great and isn't permanent if we change our minds.

My front door is the pebbled finish of your first photo. Lets in lots of light but blends into my otherwise modern facade while I still have privacy.

I have pixelated glss door on all my interior doors down a hallway so bathrooms bedrooms and an office they are in my very contemporary home and look awesome give perfect amount of privacy too unless you press your face right up to the glass all you see is a shadow that is pixelated .

I think clear modern doors with big windows look awesome, but the privacy issue is real, especially for the garage or if you just want to chill without worrying what the neighbors see. I wasn’t a fan of patterned glass either, it feels dated and sometimes doesn’t fit a minimalist look. I actually tried privacy film before, but it always looked kind of fake and was a pain to keep from peeling.

Recently, I got to see smart film up close at a neighbor’s new build. You can flip from clear to frosted with a switch, so you keep that open, bright feel but can have privacy instantly when you want it. Really cool for a front door, honestly.
