Hi,

I would suggest you to go with electric dryer. Some points for using the electric dryer are you save on raising gas prices. Secondly, you save on to installation although you have a gas connection up to second floor but for others it could cost a lot. For electric dryer you just have to add a socket with 260 V and 24 Amps that can be done by a local electrician.

If you already have the line, I would spend the extra money for the gas dryer, it will save you money in the long run.

TY I have the line and installed gas and no regrets. Only I am doing basement and want to cover all plumbing with gyproc but have been informed the gas line cannot be covered and/or must be accessible. It runs down the wall behind the dryer..I can install a built out wall to cover overthink but it is the gas. Will try and attach pic, please note that the gas dryer will be on the right, than the washer and to the left where the dryer is now, will be a stainless steel cupboard with sink and electrical will be boxed in with doors. Any ideas to cover pipes woul be appreciated..

Have used both gas and electric dryers and often end up running the electric one twice to get large loads dry while the gas gets it done in one shot.

Save the planet and go with electricity as the greener option. You can get electricity from renewable sources like wind and solar. Gas is a rapidly-depleting non-renewable resource that requires destructive methods to source ((fracking, deep well drilling) ...) and transport.

Sorry, but LNG is not a rapidly depleting resource and there is an enormous amount of it available, and its cheap. Contrasting with wind which kills endangered bird species, destroys the beauty of our landscapes, is too expensive to make, install, and maintain, so much so that the payback period is 163 years according to one notable source (forgot who); and when they break down permanently, are too expensive to dismantle, so guess where they will rot ? In place !!! This is happening already. I love solar, but the power density may not be enough to run them as long as needed otherwise I'm with you on solar.
