Marble coffee table - water rings

Hi All, I’ve had my marble coffee table only for a few weeks and I seem to have collected some etching (?) caused by glass of water left on the table. The etching can only be seen at an angle and when the sun comes through, unfortunately my living room is bright and it’s very obvious. Can anyone advice on how I could remove/reduce the appearance of those rings ? Thanks in advance !

This might help you. Marble etches easily though, so you may want to keep a few placemats on the table to set things on, if etching is going to really bother you.

Purchase some honing cream, and hone it in place. Reducing the shine reduces the visual effects of etching.

Will I need to use the honing cream on the whole table top or just on the areas with the etch ?
