I just use the brita water dispenser I bought from Walmart. It’s kind of a pain to refill, but no more work than cooking or washing dishes. We needed the filter because sometimes there is too much chlorine taste in the water.

I dislike refrigerators with plumbing. I’m weird that way. I prefer those giant 2” silicone ice cube trays and no risk of refrigerator leaks and I’m a bit creeped out by drinking water passing through an appliance that I cannot clean thoroughly (but I don’t know how to clean those kinds of refrigerators so that may not be an issue). I also don’t like to look at holes in refrigerator doors, especially in open concept kitchens.
