You can build anything with semi-custom or custom cabinets. I have never seen anyone put an oven into an island. Usually it's just a microwave. If you want more specific suggestions, post the floor plan for the whole kitchen. What is the reason for wanting to have an oven in the island?

They are called wall ovens for reason so I need more info and some pics of the kitchen plan to see what you are planning.

Ive seen an oven in an island, im guessing because of space constraints. Having said that, if you could rearrange things to get the wall oven actually higher on a wall, it will save your back as you grow older. There are some people here that could give you some ideas on how to arrange your kitchen properly if you would want to post your kitchen plans. It might be helpful before you do spend money for a less than ideal layout.

IMO if you have no space for a wall oven done right then get a range IMO a no brainer . BTW when you post a question it is a good idea to come back to answer the question asked.

Islands that are not custom are composed of individual kitchen cabinets that are linked together. Most cabinet lines offer a cabinet called an Oven Cabinet designed to receive a wall oven.

Your other option is to simply use a slide-in range in the island. Far less expensive.

My old home had one in the island. I was not a huge fan of it, but maybe thats because the whole layout was a mess.

When I remodeled my previous kitchen I installed a plumbed Miele CSO XXL in my island , near the island sink to take advantage of existing plumbing and drain. I also had a 48" range. The kitchen lacked enough wall space, so the best spot for the CSO was under the counter in the island. It worked well and I loved having the CSO.

When I built last year, I was able to design more wall space for the kitchen and placed a Miele CSO in a higher position on the wall. Yes, it is a more ergonomic spot, but if my only choice had been under the counter, I would have done it again, if that was the only way to fit another oven. Sometimes you only have so much space and have to make compromises. Things are rarely just black or white!
