Paint foundation or leave alone?

We are building a home. Siding is Hardie plank, deep ocean blue. Stone work around garage in front. Lot slopes down from front to back, which gives us a light-filled walk-out basement. But it means a lot of the poured concrete foundation shows on the side. My husband thinks we should leave it as is. I think it looks incomplete. What’s your experience with painting foundations. Does it become a chipped mess quickly? If we were to paint it should we match the siding color? Or pick up on the the stone color with a medium or dark gray? But then is painting it gray silly when the concrete is already gray? We will power wash it when complete and sod will go in. But would painting help keep the dirt off the side in the future or not? Appreciate any other tips about the pros and cons of painting. P.S. in my ideal world I would continue the stone around the side, but that’s not in the budget at this stage.
