North Texas has had weather issues today. Tornados, storms, sirens went off about 5 times. No damage here and sun is out now.

Ruth sounds like not so good weather. We have had lots of rain this month. I like getting out in Dec and shopping and looking at Christmas lights at night. I really don't like doing either in the rain.

Please pray for my Brother who was badly burned today. He was working on a 4 wheeler and extracting the gas out of it and it caught on fire. He is burned badly and was transported to Augusta, Ga. They did over 3 hours of surgery and are concerned he may lose mobility in his hands. As most of you know I am a caregiver for a little 99 year old lady and she is very bad. Hospice was called yesterday. I don 't know what else is going to happen but praying for both.

Yesterday we had snow flurries. Last night got to about 11 degrees with wind chill of minus 3. Today hasn't gotten above 20's. I believe we stay below freezing until Christmas day.

Jeanne my favorite cake was black walnut and Mom made it every year for me. Lucky we had walnuts at this time of year. I picked up my walnuts this year and the squirrels have eaten almost all of them.

True story about my Birthday. When Mom enrolled me in school she entered Dec. 25th as my Birthday. All through school I thought I was born on Dec. 25th. Well when I turned 16 I had to prove I was 16 to get my drivers license. I went to the Franklin Court House to get my birth certificate and what a surprise, it said my Birthday was Dec. 24th. I just stood there looking at it. When Mom got home from work I showed it to her and said what is this about? I was born at home and Mom said the local Dr. was upset that I was taking a long time. He kept telling her he had to get home and put toys together. She swore it was after 12:00 midnight and she don't know why he put 12/24 on the birth certificate. I told her she should have went and got it and made sure it was right but oh well. From 16 on I have used 12/24 as my birthday.

Received a pretty card frim Melinda today. Thank you Melinda, better late then never.

Nicole OMG the post office told me you would not get it until Jan. 3rd. Glad it got there early. I love making the stockings. Every new baby that is born in my family gets a stocking. I have now made around 51 stockings.

I had posted that I would be hostess for January but I'm still recovering from my accident and not up to doing much other than the essentials. I am going to post a heading and we'll have some activities for those who want to post, but there won't be a swap in January with FOTESS. I hope that's okay with everyone.
