a regular junction box would be 4.0 just have them replace it. or search google for 3" can converter.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, I have searched online, but can’t find anything for 3 in. Do you know of one? Electrician is telling me because we don’t have a 4” in there currently (for which a converter is available) we’d need to cut out the existing. Hate him to take out his work and get into drywall repairs, if we can find a retro solution. If you know of a brand I can find this in, it would be amazing!

i mean if you want to show the space you can get feed back on weather or not a pendant is even a good idea.

Which brings more labor and repair costs, which is why a converter kit was ideal. It doesn’t sound like it is an option.

I guess you need to decide what is worth it to you.

I'm in total agreement with the original post. I'm looking for a 3" can converter for a pendant light for a clean and seemless installation. The search goes on.
