The yellow would be perfect with your kitchen. Go for it.

Oh and like you, a few years ago I finally got my first Kitchenaid mixer. Now I can't live without it. Those hand mixers seem to nowadays stay in the drawer.

I would choose ink blue if you are trying to coordinate exactly with your kitchen so far (but I love anything blue and your little shelving is a lovely colour). But if you love yellow, then choose it! If you’re looking for a very coordinated look, it would be great to tie in one or two other yellow items and even add in a bit more blue… it will look very cheery!

Ink Blue. You can add yellow in fresh flowers, art , a bowl on the counter. Jeesh....: ) Or be happy, happier, happiest..........lol

I agree that yellow would be wonderful in your kitchen. I’ve always liked yellow and blue together. Mine is white - it was a wedding gift from my grandmother 30 years ago and she thought it was the most sensible. I still think about having it painted.

Yellow, hands down! Bright, cheerful, contrasting while being complementary, and will make you happy every time you look at it.

What a lovely kitchen! I agree with Jan that ink blue would look best and add yellow in smaller bits. The blue will anchor that corner and balance the dark cab on the other wall. Other little bits of yellow will play off the ink blue mixer beautifully. I worry the yellow of the mixer and yellow in the floors will not bring out the best in each other. Individually both are gorgeous, but together they may bring each other down.

However, if the yellow mixer brings you joy every time you see it, who cares.

I'd go with either white, stainless, or blue if it's going to sit out on the counter. As useful as these things are, they're not a great design element and I wouldn't call attention to it with a bright color.

Personally I think the Ink Blue will stand out more than the yellow. The Ink Blue is not only dark but very bright. The yellow is less bright and lighter and will sit more quietly on the counter.

Get the color you love.

And if you want something different in the future, mixers can be painted (or powder coated).

Yellow for sure. And I notice you don't have anything on your shelving yet so you could always add a yellow something on them as well. A stack of yellow sideplates or a yellow ceramic vase.

Oh my goodness, I had no idea there was such a wonderful community of style savvy people on this board! I should've found you all sooner. These comments were incredibly helpful.

Here's what we decided to do: We just completed our master bathroom renovation, so cost was a factor in choosing my first Kitchenaid stand mixer. We had a coupon for B, B & B which brought down the price quite a bit, so I chose from the selection they had. They were out of Majestic Yellow, and they didn't offer Ink Blue, so we went with Pistachio. I think it goes with the style of our kitchen, and the pastel reminds me of my grandmother's kitchen (remember those pastel dishes in everyone's midcentury kitchens?). The mixer should arrive Monday, and I'll post a photo to let you all see how it looks.

I realize the Pistachio might clash with the blue prep table on the opposite wall. But that was a secondhand find and I painted it blue. (Originally it was black.) I can always find a complementary color that harmonizes with the stand mixer and paint the table again.

The pistachio is a pretty color. So was the majestic yellow - I think you would have been happy with either. Look for a couple of dish towels in a complimentary soft green and you're good to go.

Pick the mixer in the color you want. Then find just a few accessories (a vase, a salad bowl, curtains, potholders, dish towels) which match the color of the mixer. If you have space for
a piece or two of art (which have the mixer color), do that, too.

get the light blue - i would stay classic and not bold color so you can keep it out forever in every house you have - i got stainless steele super classic

Not only is the mixer available in colors, but also the bowl. Kitchen aid has several in solid colors as well as some interesting prints. I bought a light green bowl (as a second bowl, handy when a recipe has one beat the egg whites separately from the rest of the batter) for my white mixer--the green matches what wall shows in the kitchen.

Get the color you love, sounds like it’s yellow. I got the light blue. Doesn’t match my kitchen anymore, but I still love it.

The pistachio will work well too. And next to red, it's one of my favorite colors. So maybe paint the cabinet a deep green?

Ok, here it is: the pistachio mixer in our kitchen. I might need to paint the prep table a different color if the blue clashes, and maybe replace my tea kettle. How does the mixer look?

Just wanted to say that your kitchen looks cozy, well put together and inviting - I love the color of the table. Your mixer looks awesome - love the color - and I think you'll find yourself over the moon with how incredibly useful it makes baking! I finally got one when we registered for our wedding (although in gunmetal grey like my GenX heart), and I haven't stopped using it since! That said, mine is currently on the counter full time while we await this massive renovation, and a word of warning - they can get dirty/dusty quickly sitting out. I pretty much have to wash my bowl before each use. Mine is about as close to my gas range as yours is in the photo - even though I'm not a particularly messy cook, it still gets greasy over time. And even though I love the look of mine, I'm now including some way to store it away as part of our kitchen design (appliance garage is winning at the moment, but I'm considering a lift - just hard to justify devoting almost an entire lower cabinet to the mixer). Enjoy baking up a storm with your new mixer - and consider the ice cream maker attachment - it's pretty awesome!

I think the Pistachio is gorgeous. If it clashes with the blue, I’d be surprised but you can always repaint it since you have done it before.

YELLOW!! but truthfully I woulld rather have a different brand stand up mixer. I HAD TO have the kitchen aid as that was the in-laws experience and opinion. I HATE the one bowl size vs two which I was used to. I HATE the inability to scrape the bowls while it's running--which I was used to my entire growing up. We gave our youngest one for her college graduation and it's already worn out it's PLASTIC gear and died. Five years. The new ones are not what they once were!!!

I use my hand, a wooden spoon and that little buzzy ancient hand mixer...... the real secret is ..........butter lol.
