What are your goals for the remodel?

Thank you for including photos from several angles. It would be helpful to see current photos (if you're comfortable), showing how you use the spaces, like the breakfast nook and peninsula. Do you have a dining room? Do you use it?

Please post a drawing of the kitchen, with all dimensions, including windows and doorways, and tell us where the doorways lead.

Hey Ann! Thanks so much for helping! We were just going to add a small round table to the bfast nook adjacent to the kitchen since I cant see blocking the huge walk in pantry.

Friends are suggesting adding a large dining table in front of the fireplace to make it a dining rm but it's too large of a rm on my opinion.

There is a formal living room (17x16.5). I'll attach more pics including kitcehn measurements.  Hopefully I havent confused you lol

Where's the refrigerator?

Einport, no fridge since the house is empty til we sign but it goes into the corner next to where the oven is

So, do you want the kitchen open to that family room area, or closed? In my experience, a bar with uppers hanging over it is the worst of all possible worlds. You should take the uppers down, or wall off the area completely.

I see two things in the current layout (besides the uppers over the peninsula) that would drive me crazy. One is having no drawers next the the dishwasher, for easy unloading of silverware. The other is the oven stack right against the cooktop, giving you no worktop or elbow space on that side. Possible solutions are depending on room dimensions, your preference for kitchen being open or closed, and whether you are changing the kitchen floor to match the family room wood floor.

To best help with layout, could you post a sketch of the kitchen and the spaces around it so we can see how these rooms all relate to each other?

Is this dining area in the photos the only dining area in the house?

Hey sheloves, thanks so much for helping. Yes, the only definitive dining area is the small bfast area. They used the room on the other side of the peninsula as a living rm. But there is a 2nd living rm (the rm next to the oven). My friends suggested using the front LR as a DR but it just seems so big for that🤷‍♀️

The kitchen + dining area would make a fantastic kitchen with an island. A dining area that is only 6.5 feet across with a walkway to the back door(?) is terr.i.ble.

Can you sketch out the house plan? maybe you could incorporate the pantry into dining space and put s reach in pantry elsewhere.

You have huge potential with so much space, which means you can go in many directions. I wish I had your problem. I think if you narrow down what you want and you'll get more response. You might try to draw the floor on graph paper, to scale as close as possible. Ideally, use something like Sweethome 3D and you can work well with people here as well as pro designers when you shop for cabinets, etc.
