OMG, this is not good look... Maybe just install large black sliding door on one wall, and rest drywall? Why new construction and only 8’ high?

When I worked outside of my home in an office, the last thing I wanted to see when I arrived home was something that resembled an office.

I think this would look great. 10 ft ceiling height and cool partition walls - love it. I think I would build the darker areas out of wood and paint it. Then the glass part can be done by a local glass shop. Just a thought

I ahppen to love my 8' ceilings so IMO not a big deal as for the wall go commercial it will lok so much better and the panels can also be larger but I am curious as to where this is going

@Debbi Washburn - Totally get what you're saying. I actually have it framed out like that now and we were planning to do just what you said, or wrap the drywall in a sheeting of some sort. But after some thought, we are considering ripping those out and doing a full partition instead. The living room side of the office is opposite a 25 foot wall of windows and a 12' center pull patio door, so I was worried the paint might look weird or bleached or dirty (yay for little kids!) because black paint can be tricky in different lighting. I also have these "fins" coming out that I need to deal with somehow that are supporting the top floor. Leaving them white could look bad. I could paint them black or wrap them, or put in a wood or steel post on each side. Or bump the long side out to match them. But then we lose our little sitting area in that hallway. To note, those "fins" also extend upstairs and can be viewed from the living room, so from a design perspective, they could look off if removed or the wall was bumped out.

Make it easy to price without scheduling a visit. Sketch up a dimensioned plan and send it to a couple of commercial glass shops until one gets interested. The shop will source.

You don’t need a recommendation. You’ll know when you look at the product whether it’s quality. It’s not going to be cheap. Use Google Lens and find styles you like and heights that work. You have to purchase through office furniture dealer. None of these companies sell direct.
