No. It is not a crab, or indeed any kind of Malus. Flowers are clearly Prunus.

I bought my property 22 years ago; the tree was much smaller. The former owner was a couple from Ohio, and whenever they went back there she would purchase some plants and bring to Texas. I don't know if this was one that she imported, or if she bought it locally. It has never produced any nuts, but I'm certain that there is not another anywhere near. There is lots of clay in the soil, and we have hot summers, frequently with very little rain. I was surprised to learn that it is an almond tree!
