First, THANK YOU ALL! You unanimously chose the Calacatta (less busy) so that's what I'm choosing!

Second, I was told that from a design standpoint, I need to have a focal point in the room, which should be the countertop OR the shower. If I'm going with the Calacatta (marble look) countertop, what style/color tile would you recommend I look for? If I were choosing the busy Montclair White quartz countertop, I was going to go with a large white "subway" tile (4" x 10") in the shower. Choosing the Calacatta countertop, I feel like the white subway tile would be too bland. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks, again!

I’d go with the more neutral one…it’s pretty and seems to go well, will appeal to buyers. If not, they’ll simply change it, not a big deal.

I have never heard that a bathroom needed to have a focal point. It is a utilitarian space, with each element having a specific function. Yes, you want them to coordinate well, and not have every element shouting at you to "look at me" (which your first counter choice would do, I am afraid), but a lovely and welcoming shower, a vanity with plenty of counter space and storage, attractive, clean and functional toilet all will contribute to a beautiful bathroom. Also, your choices should consider the size of the bathroom, as well. If it is a relatively small room, simple tile will always look fine and not be bland. You say this is a master bath, not a guest bath, so my guess is that there may be some products that are kept within reach that may also contribute to the aesthetic...a guest bath, I find, is easier to keep looking 'magazine cover ready.'

I would much prefer the second one (Calacatta Miragio) to the first. It's simpler and looks more like real stone.

As far as appealing to buyers 5-10 years down the road--you really can't anticipate what buyers will want that far in advance. Unless you have a crystal ball in good working order :)

Jan Moyer, I’m adding a photo of the shower wall tile (12” x 24”), which is almost identical to the light greige color the cabinets will be painted. Shower floor tile has faint color variation. I’m also adding photos of shower floor tile, a light color blend. It comes in 2” square and 3” hexagon shapes. I prefer the hex. I’m going to do the 3” hex in the shower niche too. Your (or anyone else’s) thoughts? Thank you!

decorpatti, Thank you for sharing photos. The first photo you shared gave me the idea to paint the walls a soft “mineral” (blue/green/grey) color. (Before seeing your photo, I hadn’t even considered wall paint color.) I love that color and I think it will look great with everything else.
