I never like down for seating cushions and honestly no one can choose comfort for you .IMO no sectional is actually comfy for more than 2 people arm rests= comfort so 2 people get an arm rest and the rest all sit in the dreaded middle cushion of a sofe IMO a lot of money spent for 2 people to be comfy. Go shopping and sit if comfort is huge deal thaere is no other way to test . Get a sofa and 2 chairs instantly 4 people comfy and one more in that middle seat on the sofa IMO a win/ win

As Patricia said, sofa comfort is very subjective. It depends partly on how tall the users are and whether you expect to be sitting upright or reclining on it most of the time. I did put two sofas instead of a sectional in my family room when we moved and I bought new furniture a couple years ago because it is a more flexible arrangement. It's one sofa for each of us most of the time, and then when there are six people in the room to watch a game it can accommodate that as well. I will also say that it is a good idea to get cushions that feel too firm initially because they do break down and soften up over time. Too soft provides no support.

Thank you both. I appreciate your comments. My husband and I will have to go sit in some sofas! My decorator helped us with a fabric, so we are kind of doing things backwards. Fingers crossed we find one we both love. Do you have a brand you like that won't break the bank?

Shermybeagle did you end up getting the Envision? If so what cushion did you go with and how do you like it?

vcdehart, we went with the feather lux cushion. We were able to go to a local store where they had sample cushions with all the choices. We thought the feather lux was a middle ground, not too smushy and not too hard. We have only had the sofas and chairs for a month and a half, but so far we are happy with them. Good luck on your choice.

Thanks so much for responding. We’re contemplating the Envision but it’s the priciest on our list. I’m picky so I’m happy to invest in quality.. but want to make sure we’d be getting our money’s worth. Glad to hear you’re happy w it so far :)
