Ok so i apologize i had made another a new post. I am pretty new here and don’t yet know houzz etiquette. So i will continue in this thread.

We are keeping the counters. I am going to look at backsplashes to tie it all together. I have purchased samples of the suggestions i have received so far.

I have turned all of my lighting to 3500k. The below pics are of that.

My contractor let me know that because we decided to keep the old tile surround i cannot switch out the shower/tib trim to a delta line. I need to stay with moen because of the valve. So… i need to return and repurchase. Luckily the bathroom line i almost went with is moen gibson and that coordinates. I think im going to change the bathroom wall color because i think that might be some of what is making the counters look so white with the cabinets. ( i did fix the lighting in there too to 3500k) If they arent that bronze color i think i might put in a matte black faucet and shower/tub combo. I will keep the knobs and pulls stainless.

Ripping out isn’t an option. I think my daughter took the pic with a lense that skews things. The layout is exactly what my builder had before. My floors didnt change so i had to keep cabinet the same. If i repainted white, would you match the cabinet or the counter or…?

I think the kitchen looks great. Beverly gave you three backsplash options to pull together the two whites, but you probably don’t need to worry about it. Show us what you have also considered for the backsplash. What about pulls?

The bathroom seems more stark. Is the vanity being painted? Where does Urbane Bronze come in because it can be a beautiful color for the vanity. (I painted a guest room vanity UB and love it! )

Have you considered a brushed brass for the hardware? Not a bright brass. Not sure about black for this bathroom.

Red, my hardware is all stainless/ brushed nickel. Beverly gave me suggestions but idk where to buy those. I thought they were just pic not links. I did buy samples of what was suggested by Jan i think. The gin white one from tilebar. The urban bronze is too dark. Thats the dark color in to powder room. Idk if you can tell that from the pic. Im going to repaint that. Its too dark and i dont like how it looks either. The vanity is new so it wont be painted. Hopefully once i get new shower curtain in there and the mirror goes up the room looks better.

When I receive new backsplash samples i will post new pics.

I love the dark walls against all that white/cream. Remember you don't have a mirror or decor up yet.

Just settle it. How many inches from the very center of the toilet drain to the vanity? Is it at least 16 inches?

Lomo, i promise its all very ok and not crowded at all. Its just a weird picture that gives a false perspective. Toilet very accessible.

What is the bath with the Urbane bronze near?

The flooring is a bit of a dictator..... try a deep green on the walls! Will you have a shower curtain? Find that and then pick wall paint!

Are the bath fittings chrome or satin nickel? What is the sink faucet? I hope it's same - you really don't need to mix finishes in a very basic bath, unless you do it with lighting and hardware and accessories......and then ? Probably black or warm brass or the look will be a bit forced.

Try FRESH..with the floor, add simple pulls or knobs and stop agonizing: ) One of a thousand ways below. Add fluffy white towels

It' fine. The only worry besides Jan's esthetic concerns are whether or not the shelf keeps the toillet lid from staying up on its own. It appears to be narrow enough.

Jan, the flooring is the same as the kitchen, the warm tan marble. Its my entire main floor. The urban bronze bath opens into two rooms, one comfort gray and the other escape gray. However, with the backsplash pivot im considering painting things much lighter. I have a terracotta shower curtain on order. The idea was that dark bronze, tan floor and then terracotta curtain. But now my fixtures need to change because of a shower valve that cant be changed unless i rip out my bathroom tile. So all bathroom fixtures will be black making all metal finishes in that room black. I will probably change the curtain now that everything is black because all i can think of is Halloween! Haha I agree i will wait to repaint until after i have found a new curtain but a floral that allowed me to use the escape gray from the kitchen would be cohesive looking.

That pretty tile for the kitchen will arrive today. I got two sample orders and got the max amount of tiles they’d allow for a sample order so id have several to get an idea of the look.

Can you tell me, if i wanted to tone down the amount of escape gray i have and repaint the kitchen a white how do i choose it? Would i try to march the cabinets, counters, or backsplash? The trim is bm vanilla milkshake as thats the closest i could get using the fan deck. I have a disability so i cant get to the paint store myself but my mom will be here in May and she will go and do a paint match if i asked.

Eeks..... I beg you forget the terracotta shower curtain?! Not every house was meant for gray! I understand keeping the floor, but know there is a huge warming trend afoot.....so that is very helpful for you! Add some color!

As to the kitchen? Match the cabinet paint. Have your mom take a DRAWER FACE to the paint store. Just unscrew it, and to any Ben Moore. they will match it exactly. that's your wall color, in the kitchen, in flat finish.. UNLESS you like to pull in a color from an adjacent family room........

Trim is best when it matches cabinet color. Only a change in sheen level to satin, from flat that would be wall finish.

Lol ok the terracotta can go thats easy. Ya i painted all those cool colors and now i dont like it.☹️ i thought i had to because my room has a strong southern exposure and colors get washed out. But now… i over corrected. Luckily my husband is ok if I repaint when the painters come back after the upstairs reno is done. I like the whole sage green thing. Maybe i paint match and do most of my main floor that. and then a warmer green accent wall? Are people still doing those? Sw clary sage? Bm October mist?

Oops i meant do most of main floor the color matched off white if the cabinets. Not sage green.

This is what the escape gray looks like. Im thinking its too dark/cool. Thoughts? The cabinets are to the left in that first pic. Ignore the furniture as i am changing/moving things around.

Ohh yea i have that in my discard sample box. I looked at that for my upstairs bath. So far the mauntauk gin white is my fave for the kitchen. I bought bedrosian marin sandbar for my bathroom.

I have cloe and more of the celine on order.

I still vote Gin /tile bar in the kitchen

As to tile splashes at counter in the bath? I am for UNCOMPLICATED.

You have none of those tile selections in the tub bath we're seeing.. Why add yet another element?! Get a six 5" or/6" inch riser of your counter top material and call it a day. You refreshed. You did not"remodel" and they are two entirely different things. There is not one thing wrong with a matching riser, especially in a bath.

Gray......and that flooring? No. All over the house.

The dear Lord did give us other neutrals and while gray has a place? It isn't everywhere and we've pretty much exhausted the hue for more than a decade.

The marin sandbar tile will be upstairs as a tub surround after we gut that and another bath.
The downstairs bath you are seeing has a splash of the same counter material. I am not adding more variation. The tile thats in the bathroom is just white 5” and that was already there.

I truly would not worry about it. I think it looks nice together. It looks like a nice bright neutral color scheme.

Do you have a loose floor tile sample you can put closer to the backsplash options? That color relationship gets lost when you post closeups of tile on the counter.

Okay, you're keeping the top; I get that. I still want to know what's written underneath please.

Help us all out. Could you explain more about your comment that there is a huge warming trend afoot. Do you mean a trend to warmer colors? Warmer surfaces such as carpet and less tile? Warmer woods? Teach us!

Thinkdesignlive, I dont, not easily accessible. Husband liked the montauk gin white. So did I and the kids (adults kids they are big with opinions 😬) so i bought that and it will be here tonight. It has an iridescent/ pearl finish which is very pretty. Its not as warm as the floors but because its color varies a little from tile to tile it works.

Red, i picked the tilebar montauk in gin white. in the pictures its the 4” square that i have 4 of. They are all stacked. its whats in the pic that jan suggested. Thanks Jan great suggestion!

Warmer woods, warmer colors.... a return of mossy green for instance...bronze, rusty oranges in kilim rugs, pillows. More organically neutral. Deep dark chocolate brown grass cloth ala Phillip Jeffries. Green? ditto!

The market knows when it has had more than enough of a palette. Even if it DID take 15 years.

That is not to say you cant have your gray........or your indigo. But watch the MASS retailers....even Pottery Barn.

When is the last time you saw this featured? When is the last time you saw a floral in their store???

In a world of images, and for the last two decades? These folks, like it or not..... are showing you and telling you. Just like 18 months ago I did a clients kitchen, sleek and modern in deep pine green pale oak, and a smidge of black: )

If you do it every day? You SENSE what should be coming, what SHOULD be in the wind. One day, you look in that mail pile and there it is.

Doesn't mean you have to love it...... Just saying all of a sudden gray and indigo looks............yeah. : ) Been there. For 15 years. Spice UP the gray!

There will always be the colors you love. It is simply that some move to the foreground, and some recede. If yours fall out of favor, "darling of the moment", its just deeper digging and more customizing, to have what you want.

Joseph, ah! The toilet! I have to say i find it amusing all if this interest in that. When i get a moment yes. 😬 ill deal with whats written underneath.

Thought id post an update. I posted some on the other thread by accident. This is the tilebar montauk gin white with prermacolor bright white grout.

New 36” fridge not in. Thats a 33” hence the gaps on either side. Also the faucet is still in pieces as it came with a missing washer. The wall is the escape gray. I have a small counter table that will be on that wall which will align with the floating shelves. Any thoughts on alternate wall colors?

Im also having a custom frame made to cover the fuse box.

Looking really nice! Personally I would paint the wall the same color as the cabinets so the space feels cohesive but I am boring lol

FWIW I find standard shower curtains really short (which makes me unreasonably crazy) I prefer custom ones that can be hung quite high and then end just a smidge above the floor - just a personal peeve

Lala, they have an 84” vs the standard 72”. I could get that and try. I also usually hang 2 together so it has a better look while closed.
