Last year I had a couple of hostas that were multiples due to divisions and decided to put them in a pot that I had.

I did nothing to over winter them. I figured, I didn’t mind losing them as they were multiples and real estate was in high demand. I totally forgot about them. Then today, when I was getting the hose set up (a dreaded task), I noticed something in the purple pot.

These two hostas appear to have survived!

There were/are on the windiest and shadiest side of the house. I did not cover them in any way.

Can’t really explain this.
