@franklin Thanks for your opinion, but that's not really helpful. So you would suggest a white or silver hood? And then what kind of lighting? We're building our kitchen from scratch so the objective is not to pick items to block lol. Definitely open to feedback and ideas

I noticed that none of your hood/lighting inspo pics featured a black hood. So I went looking (search: Kitchen black hood). There are several photos with black hoods. Most do not have black pendant lights too, but a few do, although they seem to be perpendicular to the black hood. Some of the photos look distinctly modern, some distinctly all black cabinetry, some distinctly top heavy. I suggest you take a look, and see what appeals to you.
