I'd start by centering an large area rug on the fireplace

and place the two sofas facing each other ON the rug.

create conversation areas on each end, with rugs to ground the furniture.

Is this also your dining room and living room? Or will this just be a casual TV watching space? When facing the wall of glass doors, what is to the left side? Is it just the doorway to the kitchen or is something else there?

This is just our casual family room. We just need seating for tv and enjoying the fire. Left of the glass door are a hallway that goes to the foyer. The fireplace hearth is huge; 7ft wide and it juts out 4 1/2 feet

It looks like you might be able to place a TV over a console on the blank wall across from the fireplace. If you wanted to, you could also sheet rock in the pass through and then have the TV over console there. Either way, you're set up for furniture would depend on where you place the TV. We will include some designs of ours that might help you with layout.
