It looks great, Lois! I am working on a modified version of this pattern.

I very lightly stretch binding, just to help it roll over to the back. I also cut my binding on the straight grain. I never use bias unless I have rounded corners, and I rarely do that!

That is a super scrap quilt. and the ’wonkiness’ will never be seen by human eyes. You are being too self critical. Yes, you Lois!! stop that!

I was telling someone about my baking fails and she told me that very thing. We aim for perfection but it is a very elusive target.

As for the binding…another crap shoot. I don’t think I stretch but maybe ’ease’ a bit.

When I asked at my quilt shop I was told to cut the binding exactly to the finished size I wanted. Then pin it with many pins to the quilt front. Finally sew the two together. But my steps are once the binding is attached to the front I sandwich the layers and sew to the back. Finally I quilt the layers.

Your quilt is beautiful. I adore the scrappy look of 832,000 different fabrics.

I wouldn't say I stretch my binding, but I do make sure it is taut when sewing it down.

You’re right, Theresa. I can be too critical of myself. I need to work on that. Bev, i don’t know the name of the pattern. I just saw a photo of a similar quilt on-line somewhere. The poster called the quilt ”Charming,” so when I copied it, I copied the name too.
