I like Virginia Sweetspire, but they have a tendency toward chlorosis. There is evidence of that in your specimen, unfortunately.

Your eyes are way sharp @mxk3. I will take note of its health through the summer to see how it fares.

It's fairly evident --> paling/yellowish leaves with green veins.

I see the same in several of my plants to about the same extent. It doesnt get much more noticeable and doesnt seem to affect flowering or hardiness.

Chlorotic plants looks sickly to me (which they are), whether they flower nicely or not. It should be easily remedied with an application of chelated iron. It was a constant battle with Virginia Sweetspire for me, though -- I got tired of yearly applications of iron and just threw in the towel.

Does not look at all look sickly to me. Like I said I will see how it fares as the summer advances.
