Any ideas for my laundry room?

We bought an old condo in Florida and have cleaned up, painted and decorated much of it. My next project is this old laundry room.

It’s 5’1” x 12’1” and very boring. I need to keep some storage in there because our garage gets so hot.

My options are paint, bead board/shiplap, or wallpaper. I’m also thinking of adding a shelf above the washer & dryer and maybe updating the cabinets some how.

I’m on a budget. The style will be coastal.

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

There are so many great options for you to go with. I'd pick a wallpaper that you love and cover at least one wall with it. Hang the cabinets below ceiling and add a shelf or two below the cabinets. It's a laundry room so go bold if that's your style. With your light flooring and white appliances you could also paint the walls and cabinets a dark color too and get away with it. Don't forget wall art and a beautiful rug.

You say you are on a budget, so I would recommend you start with paint in a color that is pleasing to your personal taste. New paint and a fresh new rug would not be too expensive and would drastically change how the room looks. It is not a terrible looking room at all. You could also possibly get rid of the florescent light and install a nicer light fixture. Not a chandelier which would be too fussy, but something that looks good to you. The cabinets are fine-if they are not beat up (which they do not appear to be), you could paint them, but keeping them white with a new wall color and rug would make for a less boring LR. Maybe some more art work for that wall between the dryer and the door. I am all for keeping in budget!

Paint is the easiest, and then wall paper. Use some natural elements, like seagrass baskests or rope accessories. Depending on how whimsical you want to get change out the cabinet hardwar e to something nautical like faux shells or a rope knot.

I think the room would be elevated with a deep, rich color that you love that complements any adjacent room. One long runner to complement the paint color you choose rather than the two rugs you currently show.

IMO a dark color in a space where lighting is a must, to see stains , is the wrong choice . I love the blue cabinet color and the daisy wallpaper
