I would take the wood slats all the way to the ceiling. Also, I would stop short of the "center". I think when you have a situation like this you embrace the unsymmetrical nature of the apex of the triangle. I think the wall-mounted cabinet needs to be wider and the TV hung lower. Not a pro-

I would ignore the "peak" as most people will never notice it. Just design for the people-level experience of the room.

I wouldn't use wood paneling or anything overbearing. Do what you want to make a nice TV experience for yourself, then on the dining side, think about few free floating staggered shelves or cubes, maybe a circular pendant over the dining table, so that the staggering of heights will make the "peak" less noticeable. Maybe using high backed dining chairs or squiggly modern ones and a structured plant like a yucca -- get the picture?

One way to think about this is to imagine the wall is canvas on which you are going to paint a landscape. Imagine the TV is a house with a view, so how would you fill out the view on the left? Some tall trees, a lake? Rolling hills? Clouds? A fishing village> I don't know. But it might help you narrow down what shapes and color hues you want on both sides of the room that are tall or round or multiple squares, yada yada.

I wouldn't do the dark line with cabinetry right up against it on the right. In the dining space I would just do light shelves over a dark sideboard, and at at the right end of the shelves, paint a wavy stripe of chocolate brown behind the shelves and put white objects in front of it. And I wouldn''t drop the painted line down from the peak. I would drop the line to the left of the peak, to give the illusion of a bigger living room.

do you really need a ceiling fan? Something like this would be more fun if you are keeping the rug (and I would move the sofa more onto that rug, away from the curtains)

Here's my really laughable finger drawing of how you could use a color block on your dining side with shelves. The green blotch is a dining table with chairs, the purple golf club is a drum shade light pendant. (These are the only colors I had to work with but I'm not suggesting them for your space!) the black squiggle line is dark painted on the wall at the right end of horizontal open shelves over a dark sideboard. It is to teh left of the peak. Little blue circles are white ceramics like a pitcher or mixing bowl or pot of herbs.

I think paneling on just the left half of the room would look like something a landlord did.

By the way, Crate and Barrel sells pre-made batten panels that are configured in such a way you can add floating shelves and drawers to them. So you could get enough panels to make a big background for a TV, and then float what you want, where you want it, around the TV. I wouldn't do a whole wall. I would just do the center of the right side of your room

I love this freehand drawing to paint in faux architectural details. I’d use the shapes and colors from your rug. This would be an inexpensive way to define each space.

One way to draw on walls is use a slide projector and trace before applying paint. Another is to cut templates (easy to do on a table) and tape them to the wall and draw around them before applying paint.

Keep it simple.

I would paint the walls and ceiling the same color of white or a least a closer match.

We might suggest not doing the wood panels, but just placing the TV on the wall with a console underneath. You might then do a bar on the other side or just keep it simple and do some artwork over a buffet. Here are some ideas for you:
